I’m Simone, the filmmaker behind 6ixb Productions.

I make films for people and organisations with something meaningful to say. Stories about our oceans, wildlife, science, conservation and the environment are at the heart of what I do, but I’m interested in any story that has the power to make people feel something, see something differently, or simply care a little more.

My journey into filmmaking started with a single film.

In 2021, I made Seat 6B, a small personal project that unexpectedly changed the direction of my career. I had originally come from a photography background, but making that film made me realise that storytelling through moving images was where I wanted to be.

I went on to study Film at Falmouth University, graduating in 2026, and along the way gained experience across directing, producing, cinematography and post-production.

More recently, I’ve been developing documentary work that brings together my love of filmmaking and the natural world. Into the Blue, my film about marine biologist Kelsey-Michelle O’Shaughnessy and her connection with the ocean, is one example of the kind of work I love to create. I’m currently developing Microplastics: Beyond the Gut, exploring Kelsey’s research into the effects of microplastics on sharks.

How I work

I believe the best films start with listening.

Before thinking about cameras, shots or editing, I want to understand the people, the purpose and the story behind a project. From there, I look for the moments that are genuine, engaging and visually compelling.

My films are cinematic, but never at the expense of authenticity. Whether I’m filming in the field with a researcher, documenting conservation work, telling a brand story or capturing an event, my aim is always the same: to create something that feels honest and leaves an impression.
